The product’s ingredients, such as sodium alginate, and mucous substances derived from Icelandic moss, act by thickening and increasing the viscosity of the saliva to increase the hydration of the pharyngeal mucosa, to support it as a natural physiological barrier protecting against microbial invasion. Restoring an adequate level of hydration in the mucous membrane is also good for relieving symptoms of cold such as sore and burning throat, coughs, dryness, and hoarseness.
