Intense workout causes significant generation of lactic acid and other metabolites which reduce sportsman’s physical performance. Appropriate supplementation should include high-quality products allowing maintaining high efficiency of aerobic and anaerobic energy processes, thus developing in the sportsman’s body well functioning mechanisms to prevent disrupted acid-base balance in the body and enable more efficient workout and faster recovery.

It is a physical and chemical condition of the body in which the ratio of cations (H+ ions) and anions (OH- ions) in body fluids and cells is more or less constant, thus maintaining the same physiological pH inside the body (7.35-7.45) which guarantees smooth completion of all metabolic processes. The balance is difficult to maintain, especially during intense physical activity, when lactic acid generated by muscle cells becomes a strong donor of H+ ions. The potential of muscle cells is reduced in terms of synthesis of the basic energy molecules (ATP) required for muscle contraction.

Buffer solutions in the blood and tissues provide the essential mechanisms which help to maintain the proper physiological pH value. These systems are to help transport excessive (also basic) ions from the site of their origin (cells) to organs responsible for their elimination, i.e. kidneys or lungs, without the risk of changing pH of intra- or extracellular fluids. The most important buffer solution in maintaining the acid-base balance is the bicarbonate system (HCO3-/H2CO3), which makes 70% of the blood buffer capacity. The system is supported by citrates which increase the bicarbonate blood level, thus increasing its pH value and improving distribution of charges in intra- and extracellular space. The phosphate buffer is also important in maintaining constant pH of the body. H+ ions generated in cells are combined first of all with anions of phosphate and protein buffers, and then by HCO3- and haemoglobin.

Recomended use

Take 2 capsules twice daily between meals. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet. A varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are recommended.

Do tego produktu podszedłem dość sceptycznie, ale jestem miło zaskoczony. Po ciężkich treningach na drugi dzień nie mam zakwasów. Dołączam na stałe do mojej suplementacji!
